President of Ain Shams University honors the author of Ancient EGYPTIAN Mathematical Papyri

Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat, President of Ain Shams University honored, Professor of Mathematics, University of Indiana, Pennsylvania, United States of America Dr. Maher Shawar. The award came in recognition of his efforts in writing the first book on mathematics and papyrus that contains theories and mathematical equations in the era of the ancient Egyptians, titled "Ancient EGYPTIAN Mathematical Papyri". Where Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat dedicated University Shield to Dr. Maher Shawr, praising his efforts in writing the book, which took 15 years in the composition and the collection of scientific material contained therein.

For his part, Maher Shawr expressed his pride in the affiliation of scientists and professors of various disciplines for academic and research excellence, such as Ain Shams University.

Dr. Maher Shawr explained that the book comes in response to the claims of some Western mathematicians that the ancient Egyptians used primitive mathematical equations and theories, stressing that the theories that our ancestors relied on ancient Egyptians are the same advanced theories that we use in our time.

Director of Project Development, Innovation and Intellectual Property unit at Ain Shams University and supervisor of the University of the Child program, said that there is a scientific program and lectures to be delivered by Dr. Maher Shawr on the students of the Child University to inform them of those theories and explain them in a simplified way to achieve the continuity of generations.
