Recycling of industrial rock-tailings as value-added circular economy and environmental protection.

The rock-tailings cause detrimental effects on the people working conditions as long as serious drawbacks in the land filling sites, i.e., the fine powder can cause serious health problems on inhalation beside many ecological problems when poured into the natural water resources. Valorisation of Shaq Al-Teaban rock-tailings is a demand-driven issue in the present socio-economic environment, i.e., recycling of such rock-tailings would not only helps conserve natural resources but would solve a growing waste disposal crisis as well. On the other hand, in the transition from today’s linear to a circular economy, Shaq Al-Teaban rock-tailings could be recycled as raw materials for value-added eco-friendly products, with a view to ensuring intelligent, sustainable and integrated growth.

This project aims directly at the optimization and modeling the Shaq Al-Teaban rock-tailings for the production of normal concrete, supplementary mortar additive as well as their possible use in the production of ceramic tiles.
